A flight safety auditor from Air India was discovered deceased in a paying guest accommodation located in Gurugram. He had been residing there for several days, as reported by the police on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Praful Sawant.
Following the post-mortem examination, the police returned the body to his family and are currently interrogating the staff and residents of the PG facility as part of their investigation.
According to police reports, Sawant, a resident of Mumbai, had been staying at Gaurav PG in Sector 30 for a few days. The PG staff informed the police that Sawant had returned to his room after having breakfast on Monday morning.
He had sent money for lunch via UPI to the PG operator. However, when the caretaker called to inquire about lunch, Sawant did not answer his phone. Concerned by the lack of communication, the operator went to Sawant's room, only to find the door locked from the inside and his phone ringing. Upon receiving the alert, a police team arrived at the scene and managed to open the door, where they found Sawant lifeless on the bed.
